The Algarve region of Portugal is well known for the quality of its golf courses, mild climate, golden beaches and spectacular scenery. With an ever increasing number of first class courses available all year round, the Algarve is truly a superb destination for golfers of any ability. Today more than half the Portuguese courses are in the Algarve region. They were designed and are maintained so well that some of them are counted among the main European and Worldwide courses.

Miles of gorgeous, golden, sandy beaches, calm clear waters and bays interspersed with rugged cliffs and enchanting grottoes; the Algarve is amongst the top European holiday destinations. Despite the obvious influence of tourism, a short drive inland reveals the true Algarve where life goes on much as it has for many centuries. This brightly coloured region with orange groves, almond trees in blossom and fragrant pines is also the most verdant and fertile. Sports enthusiasts will find ideal conditions and top class facilities; the golf courses and tennis establishments have a highly prized reputation. The Algarve is a children's haven; several exciting water parks, surfing in Praia da Luz and horse riding.

The different regions of Portugal vary enormously. Whilst the majority of holidaymakers head for the Algarve, ever improving roads and a wide choice of flights mean that many people now combine the beauty and history of the Lisbon area with a relaxing week in the south. The journey between Lisbon and the Algarve takes a two and a half hour drive.
